First Year Student Applications
Applications for freshman admissions to the Honors College are distinct from those to UNLV. Students apply independently using two different processes and send their applications to two different offices.
The Honors College admissions committee reviews various elements in student records to make admissions decisions. It uses essays, letters of recommendation, accounts of extracurricular and leadership activities, grade point averages, and SAT and ACT scores, in addition to occasional in-person interviews. The college realizes that students have different strengths, and accordingly treats each application individually.
There is no college admissions deadline, but students should apply as soon as they begin to consider attending the college. Students applying by Feb. 1 will have priority consideration for Honors College scholarships. Your Honors College admissions application will also constitute an application for an Honors College scholarship.
If you have any questions about the Honors College admissions process, please e-mail honors@unlv.edu or call 702-895-2263.
