Transfer and Continuing Students
Students who have completed college-level work at UNLV or other institutions are encouraged to find out about the benefits that the Honors College has to offer. However, before completing a transfer/ continuing student application please call to schedule an appointment with or speak with one of our advisors.

This is to ensure that the University Honors program is the best fit for your particular situation.
After meeting with one of our advisors, the application process will include, at a minimum, the following:
- Application Form (PDF)
- One letter of recommendation from a college faculty member
- A writing sample (paper written for a college class, 3-5 pages in length)
- A statement about why you are interested in the Honors College
- A copy (unofficial or official) of transcript for all post-secondary institutions attended.
- A resume that details: Academic Honors, Extracurricular Activities, Community Activities and Educational Travel
In addition to the above, if you are applying to the Department Honors Scholar Program, you will be required to meet with the Dean or Associate Dean, and to submit a letter of endorsement from the department which will sponsor your thesis. For details, please see our Department Honors Scholar page.
